On a recent business trip to the Austin area, Tammy was looking for a place to relax at the end of a long day. She came across Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.

According to the city’s website, the park covers 645 acres! It features a wide variety of sports fields and courts, jogging and walking trails, pavilions and picnic areas, and a large lake.

She strolled around Bright Lake and enjoyed watching the many people who had gathered to fish for bass, catfish, perch, and other fish. She also enjoyed watching the ducks and other waterfowl splash in the water.

All in all, a very relaxing end to a busy day.

Recommendation: This is a nice place to spend a few hours, either on a weekend or after work.  Lots of recreational facilities and a trail long enough for a brisk walk or run.
